Subsidies and Grants







Families requiring financial assistance to access hockey have access to the following programs to help pay for hockey registration fees, team fees and/or equipment.

Notice: Additional fees not covered by subsidy are: Practice ice, tournament fees, jerseys, parents respect in sport course and team functions.

Practice ice can range between $400-$1000 per player, depending on age and level

GCWCC Program Registration Fee Subsidy Grant

The GCWCC grant will be applied to program “Registration Fee”, to a maximum of $300. Team fees: (practice ice, tournament fees) are ineligible.

To apply for the GCWCC Subsidy:

 - Must provide Parent(s) most recent Revenue Canada “Notice of Assessment” and be under the maximum annual gross income set. 


Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund

Parents/guardians will apply directly with the program through the link below 

Team fees: (practice ice, tournament fees) are ineligible.

Provides assistance up to $500 to subsidize registration fees.  Financial eligibility is based on the Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) guidelines from Statistics Canada.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart

Provides up to $300 in fudning for children between 4-18 years old.  Families must meet the specific financial criteria as per Revenue Canada's Low-Income Cut-Offs (LICO) chart.

Dianne Woods Memorial Player Financial Assistance

Available to players under 17 in Hockey Winnipeg.

Cooper Nemeth Memorial Player Assistance Fund

Available to Hockey Winnipeg members at the AA level only.

Parents/guardians will apply directly with the program through the link below .

The Cooper Nemeth Memorial Player Assistance Fund is a “once per competition season” application only and is available for Hockey Winnipeg members at the AA level only.

GRINDSTONE AWARD FOUNDATION

Provides grant assistance for female playes that first meet specific financial criteria as per Revenue Canada'as LICO chart.

BLACK GIRL HOCKEY CLUB

Established a scholarship program to subsidize the costs of playing hockey for Black women ages 9-18 years old.
