North East Female Hockey

2018-2019 Season Report

Northeast Female Hockey finished the 2018-19 season with great success. This season we had 13 teams and over 175 girls playing female hockey. We were able to host teams at all age levels and at both the A and AA levels. Our team highlights are as follows:

Eagles A1 Novice - Our second season with an A1 team at this age level they finished the regular season 0-18-0. This was a tough season for a very young Novice team who played with heart and developed their skills using the new half-ice model.  The highlight of their season was winning a Silver Medal in the Stonewall Tournament.

Eagles A2 Novice- Finished the regular season 1-16-1. The young team played also developed a tremendous amount over the course of the season and their skills developed from the half-ice model.

Eagles A1 Atom- finished the regular season 2-13-3. This team played some very close games in the playoffs and beat the third-place team to extend their playoff run.  Although they did not have a significant amount of wins this young team improved dramatically and by the end of the season they were battling hard in every single game, often losing by 1 goal.

Eagles A2 Atom Blue finished the regular season 2-12-4. This team battled hard all season and demonstrated lots of growth in their skill development.

Eagles A2 Atom Gold finished the regular season 1-15-2. This team battled hard all season and demonstrated lots of growth in their skill development. The highlight of their season was representing female hockey with Ron MacLean on Hockey Night in Canada.

Predators Peewee AA- finished the regular season 12-13-1.  This team had a very strong start to the season and was fortunate to have several players and our Predators coaching staff take part in the Female All Star Weekend.

Eagles A1 Peewee-finished the regular season 9-7-2.  This team had a very busy season and worked hard both on and off the ice.  Both the Peewee A1 and A2 teams shared goalies this season allowing the goalies to have playing experience at both levels.  It was a unique experience providing our goalies double the playing time.

Eagles A2 Peewee - finished the regular season 6-10-2.  These young ladies worked hard on and off the ice and showed tremendous growth as a team.

Predators Bantam AA- finished the regular season 6-21-0. This was a building year for the AA Bantam team.  They had the youngest team in the league this season and worked very hard both on and off the ice to further develop their skills leading them to many exciting battles in the second half.

Eagles A1 Bantam- finished their season 9-10-3.   This team worked very hard all season and into the playoffs.

Eagles A2 Bantam- had a very successful regular season finishing 17-4-1. This team went all the way to the city championship where they battled hard against the Storm in the best of 5 final. They took the game 4 to 3 overtime periods where they lost 1-0.

Predators Midget AA- finished the regular season 10-15-2. They advanced to the semi-finals in playoffs but fell short after some hard-fought battles versus the St. Vital Vics.

Eagles A1 Midget- finished the regular season 5-16-1. This team had a great season ad made many new friends as we had players from 3 organizations, many whom played together for the first time this season.

Northeast Female Hockey Highlights:

All AA Predator Teams and our Atom A1 team wore green laces and used green stick tape for two weeks in January in support of Mood Disorders Association on Manitoba.  Together our 4 teams raised over $12,000.

We had 200 girls who played female hockey this season and our program continues to grow.  We were able to host one additional team this season and hope to continue to add at least one additional team each year.

Each year we continue to have female players from our program represented in Hockey Manitoba Programs such as: Peewee Prospects, Female Top 100, U16 POE and U18 POE

We currently have players playing in the female AAA league, Female Prep Hockey, Female High School Hockey League and the Female Junior Hockey League.

Hockey has become a life sport for girls who have entered the female program and despite the season records or playoff runs we are developing female players who love the game and want to be involved in the sport beyond their community club playing years.

Our Prep for AA Camp is now online.  Dates and times have been made available.  Please sign-up early as last year we had a waitlist.
